Buy a House in Rotterdam

Compare Rotterdam homes with the same questions

Compare homes, neighbourhoods and purchase costs with the same questions before you choose a shortlist.

Compare one home at a time

Record the same fields for every home: street and block, floor area, outdoor space, energy information, service charge, asking price, planned works, parking position and door-to-door travel time.

Compare the setting

Visit at a weekday morning, late afternoon and evening. Listen for traffic, deliveries, trams, neighbours and building works. Check the walk to groceries, school, work, public transport and the places your household uses each week. The Rotterdam city-centre neighbourhood guide gives a local comparison framework.

Compare the money and papers

Read the VvE budget, reserve position, meeting minutes and planned works for an apartment. Add tax, notary work, mortgage advice, valuation, inspection, moving, insurance and future repairs to the housing budget. The costs page lists the categories to keep beside your notes.

Choose a shortlist

Keep two or three homes that fit the written criteria. Mark every open question and give each question an owner and a date. If a home only works after several guesses, keep looking.
